Had a visitor to the salt lick just after midnight. It was a bandit and he was obviously on the run. I like Raccoons (Procyon Lotor) when they are no where near my house. This one acted like it was being followed, it was funny. Hope you enjoy the photo, your pal the Envirocapitalist.
That is awesome! I have been wanting a game came for quit a while now. We have a ton of visitors of this sort down at the barn. I would love to watch them in action... as of right now the only traces are tracks and chicken feathers (grrr). But very cool photo! Thanks for sharing. :)

Raccoons do the darndest things!
ReplyDeleteI bottle raised two one year (momma got hit by a car) and they loved to get into the cupboard with the pots and pans just to make noise. Then when I shoo'd them out, their little "churring" noises always sounded like laughter! Gosh they were fun. (and both were rehabilitated and released in a non-hunting area.)
Thank for stirrin' up the memory with that great game cam pic!
I have a rat terrier that sleeps in my kitchen and one thing she just cannot stand for is trespassers like the raccoon that sneaks around knocking over my garbage can. Mindy always insist with her barking that I go down stairs and run the coon off. About the forth night I went down with my pistol in hand to rid the problem for good. The problem is not that the coon can get in my garbage can because I keep it tied close. No, the problem is Mindy waking me up at 2:00am. Anyway, I got down there and with the outside light on watch the critter row the can around and do all kinds of things trying to figure out how to get the lid off. He was amazing to watch. Well, I just ran him off and went back to bed.
